Frequently Asked Questions

Shopee charges three main fees on every sale: a commission fee (7.63%–15.26% depending on category, seller type, and Coins Cashback participation), a transaction fee (3.27% of gross settlement), and optionally a Coins Cashback fee (3.27% or 5.45% depending on category, with caps). Fees are calculated on the gross settlement amount, which is the purchase value plus any Shopee-sponsored vouchers. These fees are deducted before you receive your payout.

Purchase value is what the buyer actually pays: product price minus all discounts and vouchers. Gross settlement is the purchase value plus Shopee-sponsored vouchers (since Shopee reimburses you for those). Shopee calculates your fees based on the gross settlement amount.

As long as you sell on Shopee, these platform fees are unavoidable — they are automatically deducted from every sale. The only way to eliminate marketplace commissions entirely is to sell on your own online store. With a WooCommerce store and the SGPayNowQR plugin, you can accept PayNow payments with zero transaction fees.

PayNow is Singapore's real-time bank transfer system with no transaction fees for either sender or receiver. When you sell on your own WooCommerce store using the SGPayNowQR payment plugin, customers pay via PayNow and you receive 100% of the sale amount. Compare this to Shopee where total platform fees can take 15–25% or more of each sale.
