How PayNow QR Codes Work

PayNow QR codes follow the Singapore Quick Response Code (SGQR) specification, which is based on the EMV QRCPS standard. The QR code contains information such as:

The merchant name (for UEN-based codes)
A reference or comment for the transaction

When a user scans the QR code with their banking app, this information is automatically extracted, making the payment process quick and error-free.
